TO MAKE EVERYBODY CLEAR; Sobah played for NRSC during the year 2007. In his agreement it was stated that the agreement ending date is year 2007 (not mentioned clearly whether it was calender year or football year). So he signed with Victory. NRSC later gave some advance money & had an arrnagement with him for his unpaid salaries. So he signed with NRSC as well. Actualy NRSC was not aware of the agreement ending clause in the agreement at that time. The guy who talked to sobah from Victory's side was one of there powerful official & he wanted Sobah to get more money benifit. but some of Victory's official was not happy about the decision and submit the Agreement & registration letter to FAM. with in few hours later NRSC also brought there agreement to FAM (22:15)but the counter was closed. So somebody (present secretery of Interim comittee that time national manager)put the Agreement on Addo's table. FAM reviewed both agreements & checked about his previouse agreement with NRSC & found out about the agreement ending clause. So later they registered Sobah as newradiant player, coz it was assumed that the agreement ending date was stated as December 2007 and Newradiant has all the rights to renew there Agreement. Therefore Sobah start practicing with Newradiant,
Root of this suspension was planed by secretry (who submited the agreement to Addo's desk) and with out any written mandate & regulation for the penalty, he called player status comitee (HANIM, MAHIDH (chairman), Lawyer, 2 other members absent).

this is a game played by NRSC management & now back fired on them... SOBA has told in his interviews that now he wants to play for VICTORY so NRSC wanted this to happen they thought that SOBA will be playing for VICTORY & then they did all necesary arrangements to suspend soba for 1 year but some members in the player status committee agree to make it as 5 months... you guys wait and watch now the susension will be reduced for a fine and that what NRSC management wanted now VICTORY told they dont want this to happen to SOBA and they now told FAM that now no more want to go ahead with this case and now FAM will change this suspension to a FINE... this is what AZIM wanted he was so scared that SOBA might be playing for VICTORY... AZIM grow up dont play these games with players... look what you have done to ADAM also... he is playing for only arounf 2500/- per month... and look at SHIFAN... you guys playing with the players... dont do this to players... you guys have taken 10000/- dollars from DMPP also but thats also yo have played a dirty game... shame on you guys...

Soba had signed for NRSC first but when victory offered a better package he wanted to change, but it was too late, he had already signed for NRSC and he deserves the penalty and this is a good lesson for other players...FULLSTOP

New Radiant loses. Victory didn't really win either. Soba has learned his lesson. And FAM sux....still (big time).

its not fair totally. fam should give the penalty 4 victory 2

FAM should be congratulated for this decision. It is high time that they take harsh action to these kind of unprofessional behaviours of our "professional" players. It is his own fault that sobah has been suspended. He has lost the respect of football loving supporters and is being ridiculed...and for what?? GREED...
Lets just hope that our players learn something from this saga!!!

Shah Ismail is looking forward to be the next hussain rasheed in FAM.

Somebody should file cases in court against FAM as they are playing up with a National Asset (Football our National Game)

Fam descision was not ok. They have to suspend Victory as well

Actualy it is not right to point fingers to Newradiant, Victory or Sobah in this case. The main problem is there is no proper regulation in FAM for these cases. We can congradulate FAM yes.. coz they still exist.

FAM should know that they are protector of players well as clubs. Actualy Newradiant sports club has made the agreement as the end date not clearly mentioned (it was mentioned as end of year 2007, not clear as calender year or football year or season). And Victory SC should clearify about the past agreements before making an agreement whith a player.
FAM has made a decision, but they should suspend a player in accord to prior written regulation. Penalty for guilty players who sign 2 (agreements) clubs is not mentioned in any regulation of FAM.
FAM at present is running under guidence of FIFA & their interim comittee & Secreteriat is administering by a member from the 5 member interim comitee, now the question is if the secretariat make a mistake by holding an agreement for so long, then who is going to question them.

People do learn from mistakes but …

The punishment comes in very harsh from the governing body, as the governing body shall present him to the disciplinary committee and advise him for this mistake he had done before implementing such a harsh punishment.

Normally reason for these kind of mistakes for pro players like soba is understandable when taken a glance at it, our footballer do not have there own managers or advisors to put them on the right path for these kind of paper work of contracts, there lives are totally dependant on what they earn from football and from what they earn from playing football does not give them enough wage to consult professionals when such a simple thing of contract arises.

So many questions to be asked …

1 – When FAM registered New Radiant’s contract earlier why didn’t they (FAM) see any fault in soba signing two contracts? Why didn’t they take action on it? Is it because FAM is obliged to decide that he should play for New Radiant somehow? Something to think about …

2 – When soba came out with a lawyer saying that he want to play for Victory and when the case is submitted to FAM by the lawyers, why would FAM take such a defensive action put a damn harsh move on the player to destroy his career, If FAM works for the interest of the players career and benefits as he should be advised, warned or else at least listen to him what he has to say about his mistake.

3 – From FAM decision what’s understood is they work for the interest of the big clubs like NEW RADIANT, VICTORY, VB or VALENCIA not the player, so what is left behind? NEW RADIANT to take advantages of cutting wage and income for soba in the coming years for this mistake whilst the governing body has punished him for the interest of a New Radiant without a word of warning or advise. What else is this apart from FAM being Irresponsible and immature?

4 – Why wouldn’t FAM punish BAKA for the contract matters between Valencia and VB although VB did bring back the case from FAM, Victory has clearly stated (all sports news articles) that they want soba to play for any team which FAM decided with the contract. Can’t believe that NRSC is so influential within the management of FAM (stupidity to max as the interim committee/players status committee is said to be independent committees)

In this case it’s clearly visible that FAM needs more educated, reasonable and people who works for the interest of players which develops the football in the country, not to be a puppet of someone.

Ignorance, stupidity and immaturity of the Interim committee and the players status committee is clearly demonstrated with this move.

All players should learn a lesson from this, that their governing body has no time to guide, advise or even listen to them. All what FAM has is a good lokking building with the powers of running the show for the personal interest of the people who are manging it. All players should holds hand togather and look for a day for someone with the great love for the game and the players take over FAM.

FAM is most of the time making the wrong move. For Sobah's case, they did not do anything until Sobah refused to go for NewRadiant's practices lately. Actualy Sobah's agreements from both sides were in FAM from October 2007. Shah (secretery) is the person who submitted the Agreement from Newradiant's behalf to Addo's desk one late Ramazan night

Of course no Victory offical will want to comment now. They got what they wanted. Sobah wont be playing all major tournaments. This is a victory for victory. I wonder what suspension FAM has for victory? In the premier league you cant even approach a player in contact

one of the best decisions FAM have took so far.... now the best players in Maldives should know to be in their feet ... this is a good lession for all the footballers...

I think every footballer must learn from Sobah's mistake. If he is really guilty, congratulation to FAM's brave decision. Sobah's fans might think it is too harsh, but i think only harsh penulties can produce effective results

The decision taken by FAM seems fair. This decision may be taken to the interest of maldivian football to avoid such "unexpectable","unauthorised","unprofessional"behavior from players.
Ofcourse it is huge loss to Maldivian national team and Newradiant as sobah is an outstanding defender with great height. But i believe my self FAM should NOT take tht matter into account. In this situation what FAM,NEWRADIANT<VICTORY,and anyother team must recognise if they change this decision on Sobah'h Apeal their would b lot of pressure in futur.
must be fair to all the players.we should not give any message ,any chance to best players in national team to do waht evr they want against rule..for example if FAM change this decision saying tht "sobah is an important palyers for national team( may be for saff championship" )than why not "dhagadey"to sign three agreement.the question is can DHAGADEY be suspended?the answer is NO if FAm change sobah's decision.
But at the end their is big question?what about newradiant and victory who particiapetd in this "dirty event" of maldivian football history.why dont FAM give press conference clarifying how sobah was trap while newradiant and victory escape from such a big fine or suspend?=ahufam-
